Well today is Sunday and what a day it was. Although we did not walk out the door until 10:45am, but it turned out to be a full rich day.
We met with the Simon Fraser Community Church congregation for worship at 11:30am in the Multi-faith center. This is the mostly median adults that are part of the "Point Church" Baptist Ministry here on campus.

The multi faith center is in the campus building that SFU provides to all faith based organizations to conduct services and worship gatherings. Every thing from Baptist to Buddhists schedule their worship times in the same building. Very interesting concept.
However awkward that may seem, it is located in a very high traffic area for the students the "Commons" student-sub, which allows for super high visibility and provides an office space on campus to our missionary at no cost.
Once the morning service was over, we all went to the pastor’s home for a pot-luck lunch. Very yummy food for everyone but we literally had to woof it down in minutes, because we were scheduled to be at the "Chinese Church" that meets across town in Coquitnam.

Our missionary preached for the young adult/ student church of 2nd and 3rd generation Chinese Americans Baptists. This was a great time of worship that was lead by the Chinese students. The interesting part of this was that their parents met in the other part of the church which was conducted in primarily Cantonese.
When we arrived back on campus we had only one hour to rest before we needed to be back to the multi-faith center for night church with the Young adults for the part of their congregation they call "The Point".
This was a great experience for us. They conducted what they call a "Multi-Sensory-Worship-Service". There we stations set up to allow everyone to journey through at their own pace. We had stations that led us to pray for different parts of the world, Vancouver, and the campus. We had a station where we could watch a video presentation with worship songs with constantly changing world scenes. And finally we could actually participate on communion (Lord's Supper) as individuals.

Once the service was over, there was dramatic presentation written by one of the students from "The Point". It was very thought provocative as well as funny. It took a look into church nonsense with a CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION format.
After church on Sunday night, the tradition is for the students to go out to eat as a group. We were told that Vancouver was famous for it's Sushi.... so off we went to eat raw fish.. We were taken to an All-U-Can-Eat Japanese Sushi restaurant. Check out these great photos:

You can pray for us Monday as we are planning to distribute nearly 1,000 posters on campus promoting the Children's Creative Arts Camp starting Thursday. It is really important that you pray for the children to come.
Here on Burnaby Mountain, children are considered as bit of an inconvenience to many of the student-parents, and they are treated as though they are a burden. You would be proud of our students from Eastside; during the Children's game day on Saturday, they got right in there and played hard with the children and because of this these children had a great time. I believe that the children hold part of the key to drawing the student-parents into the Church at SFU and eventually into the Kingdom.

The really amazing thing about God's timing is that when something is offered for the children, they come in force. The child care centers run by the city and campus have gone on strike this week and now SFU's The Point Church is the only option for kids this week. God is in control all the time.

Yummy!
Yes it was yummy, but way too much food. But all in the name of "Fellowship" and building relationships.
